Last Will and Testament

Your Will is the cornerstone of your estate plan, because it provides direction after your death about who will receive your assets (devisees and beneficiaries), who will be in charge (personal, representative or executor), and who will serve as guardian for your minor or adult disabled children.

Our office goes the extra step to advise you in updating your life insurance and retirement plan beneficiary designations to reflect your estate planning wishes.

Advantages:

  • Designates beneficiaries
  • Designates personal representative
  • Designates guardian for minor children or adult disabled children
  • May be amended or revoked
  • May create trusts in the Will for spouse, young adults or other beneficiaries
  • A roadmap through the court probate process

Disadvantages:

  • No Will avoids a probate proceeding in the court
  • Potential for Will challenge
